Kansas Coordinating Council On Early Childhood Developmental ServicesThe Kansas Coordinating Council on Early Childhood Developmental Services was created by K.S.A. 74- 7801, et al. It is also required by the federal IDEA law 20 U.S.C. 1400 and amendments thereto. A critical part of our charge is to collaborate with other organizations in both the public and private sector in order to enhance the quality of services for all children, including those with special needs.
Kansas ICC OverviewThe Kansas ICC serves in an advisory role for programs serving children from birth through age 5. Infant/Toddler Services is the name of the program that serves children with special needs from birth to the age of 3; it is also known as tiny-k. The lead agency is the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE). The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) oversees services to children ages 3 to 5 years with disabilities. Functions of the Council
Meeting CalendarAll stakeholders interested in early childhood services for children (birth through age 5) and their families are invited to join the Council at any of their monthly meetings. Committees and work groups are utilized by the council, with meetings scheduled as necessary.
