Eligibility for Early Intervention Services in the State of Kansas
Children are determined eligible for early intervention services in the state of Kansas after a comprehensive evaluation conducted by two therapists from different disciplines. Therapists, or providers, will evaluate up to multiple areas of development – cognition, language, motor, social-emotional, and self-help skills. Eligibility will be determined based on: a 25% delay in one area of development; a 20% delay in two or more areas of development; and/or professional judgment (used when there are no tests that address the area of concern or there is a discrepancy between the test results and the child’s actual performance of an task.
