Transition to Kindergarten
For many families, the first major transition in their child's life is going to kindergarten. Whether your child is currently on an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) in an early childhood special education program; is moving from being at home full-time to half or full day kindergarten; or coming from a daycare/preschool setting, the transition to kindergarten is a big one. The Early Childhood Technical Assistance Center, or ECTA, provides links to articles pertaining to the transition process to kindergarten. They can be found here: ECTA Center: Transition from Part C to Preschool
The National Head Start Association, in collaboration with SERVE Center through the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, has created a website devoted to the transition to kindergarten: http://center.serve.org/TT/. Under Transition: Facts and Findings, you will find several articles related to the topic of transition. You will find that link here: http://center.serve.org/TT/transiti.html.
